This Writers Edition is an hommage  o Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
He was the British writer that crafted the most famous character in the world of crime fiction, Sherlock Holmes.

Sherlock Holmes – the lovably eccentric master detective – was first penned in 1886 by the Edinburgh-born Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930).
For over 40 years, author and protagonist remained inseparable through four novels and 56 short stories.
To free himself for other projects – including his defence of the British cause in the Boer War, for which he was knighted – Doyle decided in 1893 that Sherlock Holmes should meet his literary demise.
To the delight of his fans, Holmes was resurrected in 1903 for many further adventures.
Doyle’s urge to write never ceased and though he dreamed of becoming known for his historical and political works, it was the brilliant mind behind his mysterious detective stories that made him famous.
His medical career eventually gave way to his writing career, but before giving it up entirely in 1891, he served as a ship’s surgeon and practised medicine for close to ten years on land before settling as an ophthalmologist in London.
The Montblanc Writers Edition Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is dedicated to the author and spiritual father of Sherlock Holmes.

The Montblanc Writers edition Conan Doyle 1902 Limited Edition version is inspired by Sherlock Holmes’ pipe.
The precious lacquer is dark brown, and the end of the pen is made of wood.
The mother pearl Montblanc logo also sits in a finial of hornbeam wood.
The metal trims of the pen are platinum coated.
The cap and barrel of this limited edition are decorated with a plaid pattern in reference to Holmes’ coat, as well as parts of a historic London city map.
The cap ring has the author’s signature, the swirl logo from the very first edition of the Sherlock Holmes story ‘A Study in Scarlet’ and a reference to the opening of Doyle’s London-based Psychic Bookshop.
The clip is shaped like a magnifying glass, revealing a hound, as featured in The Hound of the Baskervilles. At the top an ophthalmoscope is visible, a reference to Doyle’s medical background.

The handcrafted 18 kt solid gold nib is engraved with a portrait of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and a magnifying glass, a symbol often used to represent writers of mystery novels.
