Sailor Shimakuwa 100th

The Shima Kuwa is handcrafted from premier grade Mulberry wood from Mikurajima, a small island in the Izu archipelago. Shima Kuwa Mulberry wood is often used in Japan for special gifts . A special design "anchor" clip has been commissioned for this product – a symbol that is very special to Sailor.
The beauty of the Mulberry wood grain is achieved using ‘Fuki Urushi’ – a deep burnishing process using Urushi lacquers from the famous Jouhou Temple. The pen is then decorated using gold powder Maki-e in the form of a wave pattern on the cap below the clip.
