Pelikan and Porsche collaborate

Although Pelikan are not exhibiting at Paperworld this year, they certainly have some exciting news to share! As of the 1st January 2011, Pelikan took over the production and sale of writing tools from the Porsche Design luxury brand as the new licence partner for the Porsche Design Group (Porsche Lizenz- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG). The Hanover based company with its long-standing history is replacing the previous licence partner, Faber-Castell.

The initial focus of the cooperation between Pelikan and Porsche Design is on seven product ranges. The P'3105 Pure range consists of the matt black Pure Black fountain pen, combined with a matt black paperweight in an exclusive set, and also the Pure Titanium fountain pen in a limited edition of 200. The P'3110 Tec Flex range includes a fountain pen, roller ball pen, ballpoint pen and mechanical pencil. The range is characterised by a braided stainless steel fabric. The P'3120 Aluminium range is available as a retractable ballpoint pen and mechanical pencil and has an appealingly sleek and sporty design. The brand new P'3125 Slim Line range includes fountain pens, ballpoint pens and mechanical pencils and will fascinate users with its retractable clip and its filigree design. The P'3130 Mikado range is available as a ballpoint pen and a mechanical pencil. The unique detail in this range consists of a total of 17 stainless steel strands which wind elegantly around the barrel and the internal mechanism. Pelikan have recently celebrated 170 years of pen manufacture and have developed writing instruments that appeal to various market sectors. At Paperworld 2009, Pelikan received first place for the first comprehensive learn-to write system of the world griffix® from Pelikan within the category “New Product Innovation”. As an innovative company that seems to be able to keep up with the times, Pelikan’s collaboration with Porsche will create a new market segment for them, appealing to the upwardly mobile, young career orientated individuals who are inspired to purchase goods which reflect or create an image of success and modernity
