About Jasper Morrison
The British industrial designer (*1959 in London) is one of the most important designers of the present time. He became known in particular through his designs for well-known brands such as Vitra, Alessi, Rosenthal and Muji. As a designer, he is of the opinion that good design should be as simple as possible whilst at the same time being as functional as possible – a philosophy at the heart of all Lamy writing implements. Together with Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa (designer of the LAMY noto), in 2006 he organised the exhibition "Super Normal", a homage to the simple, unfussy design of everyday objects. Jasper Morrison runs his own design bureaus in London, Tokyo and Paris. Berlin's Bauhaus Archive is currently running his first retrospective, entitled "Thingness" (open from March – October 2017).
